My daughter will be going to school next September and I have heard that registration is in January (although you wouldn't know that from the Durham District School Board web site).
What school (public) would she go to??
If I would prefer to go to another school is that an option?
Where would she go if we wanted her to go in French Immersion?? Is that difficult to get into?
Thanks!
She would go to West Lynde. A great school for kindergarten and in general...both my girls go there and have since JK....6 years now.I love the teachers,,,,
French immersion starts in grade one and is at FM Heard I believe

FM Heard is the French immersion school, and there is bus service supplied for our area for grade 1 and up. Your child can attend the school for JK/SK, but there is no bus service for these grades, you would have to drive them or arrange for someone else to.
And they are not taught in French until grade 1.
My child started at West Lynde this year and I had heard good and bad about the school, but so far so good.
The teachers are great!
You will see something posted in the Whitby This Week, either the end of December or in early January telling you how to go about registering your child.
When in doubt, if you know the school you are sending your child to (West Lynde or FM Heard) call the school and ask about the registration process first hand.
Good luck whatever your choice!
My daughter is in JK at FM Hear (frennch immersion) - if you have any questions, send me a note.
