Well, one of my neighbours left me a nice little going away present.
I left my SUV parked on the street in front of my house last night when I came home from work. Before going to bed I went out to move the truck to the bottom of the driveway to avoid getting a ticket for parking overnight and I noticed that the driver side mirror was pushed all the way forward. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the door just below the mirror had been clipped and there is now a dent. Of course there was no note and I have no doubt that whoever hit me must have known that they hit me. How someone can hit a stationary object parked well to the side of the street is beyond me. Never mind take off without owning up to it. While the bad driver is at large I dare not park my vehicles on the road now. I guess the bright side is there's only 19 days left until move day.
Wow you are having a difficult time of it...3 blue box thefts...hit and run...maybe Whitby Shores is not so safe and charming after all?

For the most part people here are ok but I've had my run ins with neighbors including:
- Neighbourhood kid threw a rock at another kid who was walking by my front yard. He missed and hit my car creating a small ding. The intended target rang my doorbel and told me about it. I went over and I spoke to the father of the boy who admitted and apologized for throwing the rock. The father agreed to pay for the damage. I spoke to him a few times but it he never ended up paying for it. I decided the ding wasn't worth the bad blood with a neighbour and let it slide.
- I had a neighbour leave a note in my windsheild (which looked like it was written by an 8 year old) which threatened that I not 'BLACK' his driveway (freudian slip?) or he was going to call the cops. I actually wasn't blocking his driveway, I was parked inbetween houses like everyone else at the time. The sidewalks were just installed and wet so we were not allowed to drive over them to park on the driveway. I would have happily parked in front of my own house but another neighbor had already parked there so I picked the next open spot which happend to be in front of the racist's house. I think they were renters as I didn't see him around too long after that.
- My neighbour had her house egged a couple times, presumably by teenagers.
wow that sucks....
I have neighbours that hate when my my dog barks ONCE to be let in [hes 7 months old!!!] at aroun 9:30pm. The neighbour will phone me and complain and ask me to take my dog in eventhough by that time he is already in.....It drives me crazy that neighbours want to cause bad blood for such small things!!! But you know, this happens everywhere.....
I guess what I should do is remove the dogs voice box or stand outside and wait til hes done his business 20 minutes later....LOL
Some people really need to get a life....sad really
He wrote "BLACK"? Man that's redneck. No wonder why some refer to our little town as "Whiteby"...
I would have made the neighbour who damages your car pay. That's incredibly low-end of him not to pay for the damages.

Yup, he actually wrote the word BLACK and he was a redneck. Old beat up pickup truck and all.
About the father... Everytime I approached him about it his answer was always 'Give me another week'. I think the only way I would have gotten him to pay for it would have been to take him to court. The fact that the estimate that I got for the dent repair was only $100, his unwillingness to pay for the damage tells me that either he's of low moral character or he couldn't afford it. Looking back on the incident, I'd probably say it's a bit of both.

Wow, that's incredible!
At our new house we will only have 8 other neighbours so I'm hoping that we can all get along!
