Anyone have an actual date? The shelves are up, the coolers are in and there even looks to be some product on the shelves but no definitive "Opening On" date...

Hmmmmm! My gut says probably (most definately) not tomorrow but thanks for playing. Anyone else ? ;o)

Unfortunately for all of us waiting for the grand opening of our friendly neighbourhood grocery store, as of 7:30 pm this evening only a few shelves have stock on them, not all of the drywall is painted, there's no signage whatsoever to speak of yet and there's construction material still in the front portico (or whatever you'd call it). I'm guessing at least one more week to go (maybe two). There are pallets of stock sitting near the front so they're definately starting to stock shelves.

I saw the "Openning soon" banner on the top. But like you said, there was no date! Perhapse 1st of Feb

I just drove by the store. I don't think the Feb 1 date is realistic. There is much work to do. To my untrained eye it looks like 2-3 more weeks. The interesting thing is that there are still 4-5 vacancies and I'm very curious what we are going to end up with. I am also intrigued by that "Mediterranean Breakfast and Brunch" we are getting (not opened yet).

Hello All,

My understanding is opening day is the 27th of February.
Staff that were hired at the beginning of January are now being trained in stores across Whitby.

I will let you know if there are any changes.

I think they should've gone with the 29th - it would be kind of special!

I'm also intrigued by the "Mediterranean Breakfast and Brunch" place. I walked by it the other day and the inside is just an empty drywalled shell at the moment but we'll definately check it out when they open. I imagine that will be awhile though.

Hopefully everyone else will check it out too. Opening a new restaurant is a hard prospect at the best of times so here's hoping "Annie" (I think it said "Annie's Eggworks" on the sign) does well.
