Last year Whitby had an electronics recycling day. It was in a parking lot near their waste facility in north Whitby. I took an old TV there. I have built up another stack of old electronics and would like to recycle them again.
I sent an E-mail a couple of weeks ago to the town asking if they were going to do another one, but have not had a response. I also searched Whitby.ca and couldn't find any info there either.
Does anyone know if there will be a similar initiative this year?
If or when you find out keep us posted... I know someone who has about 50 old monitors to get rid of!

Has the person who has the old monitors considered donating them to a charity (depending on the state of them of course)?
I'd love it if they'd have another one.... I have a few things I'd like to drop off. Please let us know if you hear anything!

I sent another e-mail to the town and got this response:
Good Morning,
I spoke to our Waste Supervisor regarding your inquiry. He has
confirmed that they are currently in discussions with the Region of
Durham as to whether or not the Town of Whitby will host an electronics
recycling day with the Region or whether the Region will host the day
with another municipality. Can I suggest that you check back with us in
a month's time? A decision should be made by then hopefully.
Thank you.

So it looks like there is one in the works., but its still in the planning stages at the moment. I will contact them again in a month or so and update this thread when I have some firm news.
It would be great! I remember last time and the Town was overwhelmed with a response. I suspect that is why they are reviewing their options. We ended up taking 4 old monitors to the dump plus some major other hardware so I suspect it will cost them quite a bit if they hold another day. Aren't we all hording lots of old equipment... :0)
