This unit looks about the perfect shape and size to accommodate a lovely Rogers video store. Does anyone know if this is indeed the plan? I wouldn't mind a closer Rogers location as all of the other video stores are getting steamrolled by Ted's juggernaut machine anyways. Just got a PS3 at Xmas and would like a close-by place to rent a few games.
Soon Walmart, Best Buy, Home Depot and Rogers will be the only stores left.

Well, when they were developing the current units there were signs in the windows that said who was developing them and for what (Subway, Lovell Drugs, Panzerotto etc) and there's still no signs in those vacant units yet. They might be waiting to see who's interested in that end unit, since IIRC it has two entrances and could be divided into two smaller units still.
It may be a perfect size for a Rogers store but if I were Rogers & Blockbuster, expansion (ie. opening new stores) wouldn't be at the top of my priority list. I'd be figuring out how to cash in on the direct to home digital TV, movies, video game market instead. Renting anything from a physical store will soon be something people tell their kids they used to have to do ;o)
If you read my post I am looking for a video store to rent games for my PS3. Also it doesn't hurt to have a Rogers store nearby in case you have a problem with your digital box or cable bill. Unlike those knobs at Bell, Rogers still offers an actual store to go to rather than put the onus on the customer to box up and ship products back to them instead of a quick swap-out. This is ludicrous.
Also I want to be able to rent BluRay DVDs and not have to drive to Thickson.

aren't you going online to see the newest movies. Changes are happening way too fast and video stores aren't opening. Rogers on demand is easier to upload then to drive to the local rental facilities. I think its time to look for a Pet Smart or a Licks with some great ice cream vs. a video store. Funny how the market shifts.
speaking of rogers video on demand, I agree it is the way things should be going, but any time I've tried to use it, the video selection has been brutal (esp. high-def movies--they only had one!) I hope they improve this. I think there will always be a need for some physical stores but only in dense, retail heavy areas, I'm not sure our community/plaza would be busy enough for them to consider moving in.
I would love to see a drycleaner and a great thai restaurant go into the plaza.
Wouldn't an Ice Cream parlor, a Dairy Queen maybe, be perfect for our little plaza. With all of the sports teams, kids soccer, Iroquois Park traffic, Lynde Creek day users and our neighbourhood of course, I think an ice cream place would do extremely well during the times of the year the'd be open. I was disappointed not to see Gelato at the new A&P so an ice cream place is the only way the family can walk over and get their fix ;o)
I'm not sure about the store at the corner but when I was walking today I noticed that the unit next to the drug store has a sign that it is going to be an Indoor Playland for birthday parties etc.....
Sounds great eh?! I wish it was bigger like KidsZone on Consumers but I'll take what we can get.
Jabber.

The unit at the east end of the plaza is going to be used for a sales office for the development behind the plaza for Liza Homes.
From what I understand from interested renters the owner is looking for a restaurant for the longer term rental.
Liza Homes?
You mean the builder that incorrectly installed shower liners and tiles in our complex that will all need to be gutted and replaced when we found this info out after 6 years when the leak was noticeable in our kitchens?
You mean the builder that installed wood pillars on our homes without putting them on a base so that water seeped in and rotted them and needed to be fixed?
Those guys?
