That is a great picture and so nice to know that we still have that kind of Wildlife in the area. I mean that is why a lot of us chose to live down here....for the lake and the nature/wildlife.

As a matter of interest are you George the painter?

I was wondering the same thing. Do you worry at all that prospective clients might not get your sense of humor?

I've been his client before and I would be again. I've also referred him to others who were happy with the job.
In other words, the painting is great and he throws in the humour for free!

Maybe but I just don't find that sort of thing funny. There's always a root deep down inside for people's humour and that tells me that I would look elsewhere for a painter.
Kittie, maybe you should lighten up a little. I told you I was just pulling your chain... Instead of trying to ruin my reputation over a silly joke, let me give you a free estimate on painting.....NOT!!!!!

George is an amazing painter and his "humour" should not jade anyone from using his services. If that happened I shudder to think about the consequences: The guy driving my GO train doesn't like stopping in Pickering and has no shame of making fun of the people there: Oh my.... I'm not getting on that train... Let's keep a clear head here. Fun is fun but not for everyone. Welcome to the 2000s, the Internet and the ability to filter out information.
Jabber.

George is a great guy in person too. He bought our old washing machine and he is very nice to chat with.
A joke is a joke. I am a huge animal person too and wasn't too keen on his comment either but hey, if that is how you decide on a painter and choose to discriminate based on humour, well that is your choice. I'm sure you have also said things in the past that have rubbed people the wrong way but they haven't held it against you.
Your opinion is valid but you are missing out if you judge George on one silly comment.

George is obviously kidding around. You need a license to hunt deer and obviously you're not allowed to hunt within city limits. Even though I've met him, if I saw George in the middle of the field with a shotgun, I'd call the cops
Seriously folks, if you don't ever want to be offended by other people on the 'net, get off. Otherwise if you read something you don't agree with, it's usually a better idea to let it go... take a deep breath if you have to or just walk away. There are far more important things to get worked up over.

Nancy, what do you think about locking this thread?
For:
- Doesn't contribute anything anymore
- People are getting hurt
- Generates negative feelings among fellow forum users
Agains:
- Freedeom of speach
I would lock it. Some poeple will probably stone me for this idea
