You are definetly right about the GO train. I didn't mention it because I rarely have to take it. The parking lot is so crazy that if we have to go into Toronto we drive. We are retired and moved to Whitby Shores because it seemed like such a nice little community. In saying that I still have to contend with having to go north on Henry or Brock at around the same time as trains arrive. It has taken twenty minutes to get to Burns and Brock, a usual four minute drive. Fourteen thousand plus extra bodies trying to move around will make leaving the area at certain times pretty impossible. Hopefully they will open a bar at the east end of the plaza where we can all wait it out and drown our sorrows as we watch property values drop.
Realisticlly speaking this progect will go ahead but if there is a strong voice from the residents perhaps it could be scaled down slightly. Thirty or forty 20 story apartment buildings will be terrible, we will be living next to a concrete jungle. The current 8 or 9 storey seal on building height would be bad enough. I hope everyone wakes up by the Monday meeting.
