Just read in the paper that the Neighbourhood Clean up is happening again this year along the trails and hopefully the park/parkette area.
Love to have more details and hope others are pitching in. Its a great opportunity to get the kids out for a walk-about and to do something great for our neighbourhood.
Anyone out there who has more details, please post.
I just sent a note to the Dewsbury's . Usually we need one person to coordinate the volunteers - it's not much work. If anyone wants to help out by being responsible for handing out the garbage bags/gloves and co-ordinating teams, please send me a PM and I'll advertise it on the site and send people your way.
9th Annual Whitby Shores Neighbourhood Garbage Cleanup
Earth Day Sat. April 19th 10 a.m. Rain Or Shine!
Spring is on its way! Please plan on being part of our friendly neighbourhood cleanup. Our walking paths, parks and empty “lots” are in need of spring cleaning! Gloves and garbage bags will be placed at drop off points along the trail, at the mail boxes, rest areas and Portage Park early Saturday morning. Go to a spot you feel needs to be tidied up and start picking! Please return filled bags to drop off points. The Town will pick them up over the weekend.
An hour will make a difference! Be a good neighbour on Earth Day and come do your part!
Please contact us if you can help in setting up by e-mail or Nicole or Peter Dewsbury at 905 619-9500.

Just love seeing the 'hood pitch in, and work together. I think most of the "recycle program" was along the side of the road, and in the parks and empty lots.
I had fun, and will be there next year.
Thanks to the Dewsburys for organizing the day, and to Elizabeth Roy for comeing out.
I was quite impressed,,,,at how much litter there was,,,,,,,and at how many people came out.
My hats off to you all. See you next year.
