I noticed there are four orange flags placed on the land on the southwest corner of WSG and Gordon. Do you know if planning has started at this location. Thanks

Hi Kitties,

Sorry for the delay; the flags in place around that corner were Bell Locate flags.
On Tuesday you may have notice the cut that was put into place there for the driveway.  This was to assist in the digging.

Thanks Elizabeth - do you know what is going to be going in there? Haven't seen any planning info (maybe I just missed it)

Thanks

Judging by the Petro Canada sign on the site fence, my guess is it's going to be a gas station.  Smile

The intersection Kitties was inquiring about was WSG and Gordon Street. The gas station is being contructed at the Victoria Street/Montecorte Street intersection.

The property is owned by Liza Homes and I do believe they are planning on putting townhouses there...at least that is what I remember the plans to be 6 years ago.

I know originally it was to be townhomes but with all the stuff going on now I am just wondering if that has changed.

It's Liza homes with a proposal of 181 town homes, as of last summer. PM and I'll forward a one pager I kept up to date with the local development and student numbers for a school.. which I guess I really won't need to keep up to date any longer! At Scadding and Gordon it was for 76 townhouses. Closing it off with 427 mixed homes by Senetor on the hospital lands, and a 244 unit condo (which I'm sure will be decreased as the builders plan was not approved last year, including keeping the codo to 14 stories, consistent with the other ones by the marina).
So now I know what it is - 49 townhomes and 178 stacked townhomes.  Considerably more than was originally planned for that area.  The stacked townhomes are the type of properties that are likely to be rented out.  The stacked townhomes will be 3.5 stories
