what new park??? I know there isnt a playground going in there

Not a park with a playground ... a parkette with a couple of benches and some natural landscaping (instead of just the empty dump lot that it used to be).
As far as I know, finishing the park is apparently onhold until the WHMC smoking issue can be ironed out as it would very quickly become the new "designated" smoking area for the hospital staff and residents and we obviously don't want that to happen. Couldn't they convert the basefield they never use into a smoking area and just rezone it as not being on hospital property? ;o)
If there is any new news on the status of this parkette, please post.

The parkette will be worked on in the next few weeks.
The sodding and the benches will be installed.
There will be an area built up in the future at the bottom of Gordon and the entrance to the hospital that will be established as a preferred smoking destination.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that area (bottom of Gordon and entrance to the hospital) where everyone is smoking now? How will this be an improvement?

I think it means they won't need to smoke in our parkette,,,,,,,,,,

Gotcha. While that's a good thing, I guess Elizabeth's news that there is going to be a designated smoking area exactly where everyone has been complaining about, isn't such a good thing

Liz never said it would be a designated smoking area, she said it would be preferred, which menas they'll still smoke along the paths.

And I can't imagine the residents of the proposed condo that's almost certainly going to be going up at that corner will be all that impressed about it either.
