On May 14, in Port of Whitby Marina, there will be a public meeting to outline the "Places to Grow" strategy.
This is a 25 year plan that will tell the municipalities in the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH) area how much development they will need to accommodate provinicial growth estimates.
Intersetingly, in the Town of Whitby April 21 Planning meeting, it was stated that one of the reasons Council is looking at new developments (like ECOPlace) is due to the provincial "Places to Grow" strategy. Each of the cities/towns with Durham must grow in coordination with the Durham Region response to the Places to Grow mandate.
Come and see what the province has in mind for the GGH municipalities (incl. Durham Region).
