Interesting Tidbit for You:
In July 2007, the ECOPlace developer submitted their plans to the Town for their Gordon/Victoria mega-structure of condos and offices.
Previous to this, the developer had been shopping this land to the Durham/York Region group that was in charge of the site selection for the new regional incinerator (the one recently announced for Clarington). This plan was ended when, in March 2007 (five months before the ECOPlace application), the developer had been told that their site would be removed from further consideration because it had significant disadvantages (incl. the fact that is located near environmentally sensitive areas).
