So I was approached by a man who claimed to be an employee of Embridge.
He informed me that upon the original instillation of my hot water heater, the wrong pipe was used .... it is possible that the pipe can deteriorate and thus vent harmful gas into my house. As a result, he informed me that they would like to replace the pipe and due to the inconvenience, also replace my hot water heater, free of charge, with a new and improved high efficiency one.....
So I didn't feel right about the hole thing so I then called the gas company and they informed me that this Scam Artist was indeed their competitor. Needless to say someone at this guy's office sure got an earful..... and they claimed that they didn't know he was lying to the customers, ya right. I went looking for this guy after I got off the phone, to give him an earful for lying but I couldn't find him ....so I did the next best thing and drove around telling all the people I saw that this guy was a lying scum bag who only wanted to make a sale. I only hope that he didn't fool anyone else??
So to sum up,
- the new heater he was selling was not any more efficient then the one already installed,
- He lied about his employment with Embridge (Misrepresentation),
- He lied about the faulty pipe venting gas,
- The only thing he did tell the truth about was the fact that my bill was going to change!
