Canadian Owners and Pilots Association
COPA Flight 70

June 9, 2007
(Rain Date will be Sun June 10)

On June 9th, 2007, the Oshawa chapter of the Canadian Owners and pilots Association, will be holding a YOUNG EAGLES FLYING EXPERIENCE. This involves children aged 8-17 years. They are given an instructional lecture on the basics of flight, and the workings of an airplane. They are then taken on a flight around Oshawa, and given a certificate for their experience. This is an International program run by the Experimental Aircraft Association, (EAA) to provide a motivational aviation experience, focusing on providing a demonstration flight in an airplane. The pilots donate their time and aircraft, and there is NO CHARGE for this program. Actually, Pilots donate their time, planes and fuel so they may share the joy of flying a Young Eagle!
Each pilot pays for 100% of his or her operating costs. To date 1,297,313 children have participated worldwide, 5600 in Oshawa.
