Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to take a minute to share some information on a subject that is close to our family's heart. On October 16th, 2010, Canadian Blood Services will be hosting a blood donation clinic at Ontario Shores. This clinic is being held in the name of our friends 3 year old little girl, who was diagnosed with ALL - Acute lymphoblastic leukemia on June 17, 2009. Libby, along with her family, has been absolute inspiration for everyone that knows them.

This is the second clinic that is being held in Libby's name and we are hoping that this one will be an even greater success than the last one Please come out, donate some blood, and show your support! Free parking, and family fun day (with a children's movie in the afternoon) is sure to make this a great event!

Just a few minutes of your time, and you can help to save a life

Just wanted to let everyone know of a suspicious white van in the neighbourhood. My next door neighbour was up at 4am (compliments of his oldest son) and for whatever reason he decided to take a look outside. He saw a white van parked in our driveway (we don't own a white van), which pulled out of the driveway shortly after. We live on a court so I highly doubt the van was using our drive to turn around. Bottom line is, it is scary to think someone is sitting in our driveway while we are sleeping. Even worse, what else were they up to or planning? Unfortunately, my neighbour didn't get the plate or manage to see who was in the van. Has anyone else seen anything suspicious like this??

Their attention to detail and respect for my home and crazy schedule led me to further hire them to replace the tile in the bathroom and repair the water damage to the kitchen ceiling (kiddies LOVE their bathtime and sometimes get a touch over zealous). Recently we had them back in to lay new hardwood in our family room and we are thrilled with the results. Without question we would use Shaw contracting again and we're relieved to have a local contractor in the 'rolladex' that we can trust to do great work without completely draining our bank account - A huge advantage since the kids already have that role all sewn up

Has anyone else living close to the Harbourside site had problems with their drains crop up suddenly. I noticed that the drain in my main/kids bathroom was slowed considerably a few weeks ago, but just put it down to kids/hair/toothpaste gobs, etc. Within that same week, though, my other two bathroom sinks seemed to clogged, I've been plunging toilets like crazy, and now my kitchen sink drain is super slow and I've had to plunge it as well. I could write it off as poor maintenance on my part if the issue was limited to one bathroom, but to have all three and the kitchen having issues seems pretty strange.
This hasn't really corresponded to the heavy rains we had - it all started before then - so I'm wondering if it has something to do with the new construction. Anyone else experiencing this or have any thoughts/tips for me? I have some of the newer trees in the neighborhood on my lawn, so I don't think I can blame tree roots either.
